Hello everyone! My name is Cristina Morris. I’m a stay at home mom to four beautiful girls. They are also my coupon buddies. They love pulling the coupons out of the blinkie machines. πŸ™‚

Born 1981 in Bohol, Philippines. I grew up very poor. We had no running water and no electricity. To be honest, we didn’t even have much of a house. We had a grass hut with holes on the roof. We kinda built one of that almost each year since the typhoon (Hurricane) always blew it away. We walked everywhere and use the banana leaves as umbrellas when it rained. It makes a good umbrella. We had to improvised πŸ˜‰

After I graduated high school, I went to work to another island called Cebu to help support my family. Then I met my husband. He is a God sent. He changed my life for sure. He brought me back here in the U.S.A. Believe me, I didn’t know how to speak good English until I got here. I didn’t know 80% of what my husband said when we met. Most of the words I said was “Yes” or “No” Ha-Ha!

Have you guys heard of Judge Judy? I learned most of my English from her. I watched her almost everyday for few months until I could say it and understand it. I still struggle sometimes with some words. I used to asked my husband if he wants to eat soap (I meant soup, I just pronounced it wrong). Then his respond would be “Why would I want to eat soap?” Ha-Ha! And if he wants to eat bridge ( I meant bread).

Few days after I got here, I asked my husband where to buy rice. Rice was our main food in the Philippines. We ate rice for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We even ate rice for snacks! Yup! Then he took me to Publix! Employees were so friendly. I told my husband ” I didn’t know american people are so friendly.” I felt welcome there. I fell in love with Publix! And on top of that, they sell the BEST rice in the world! I love Mahatma Jasmine Rice. I got all our groceries at Publix for nine years without coupons. I really LOVE Publix! I buy all my groceries there (coupons or not).

Back in 2010, Things got tough and I had to find another way to save money. I needed something that could save us money while staying home with my kids. One day, I saw Β the “Extreme Couponing” show on T.V. This lady had a trunk full of Maruchan Noodles and she got it for FREE at Publix. I said to myself, “I need to do that”. I want a house full of noodles. LOL! Β I watched that show over and over and over but it never mentioned that coupon blogs exist!

You want to know what I did? For almost a month, I studied the Publix website. I learned when they put out the new ads and where to print coupons. I did my own matchups based on what my family needs. It was so hard at first but I got better at it. Made few mistakes but we learned from our mistakes, right? πŸ˜‰ My rule is to focus on one or two items each week that my family really needs and stock up on it! It works for me. πŸ™‚

Months after that I created my own Facebook group because I wanted to teach others how to coupon. Year 2014, I built my own website and created a Facebook page and another Facebook group. The group is growing faster than I would ever imagined. Thanks to my beautiful admins who’s always there to help our members.

I would love to hear how and why you started couponing? Leave a comment below πŸ™‚
